Why Tianyar?
Tianyar is not your typical tourist destination. It is a place where the majestic mountains of East Bali meet the raw, untouched beauty of the Bali Sea. But beyond the breathtaking sunrises, our village faces a silent challenge. Our coral reefs, the lifeblood of our fishermen are struggling to survive, and our children often find themselves at a disadvantage in Bali’s fast-moving global economy due to a lack of English education.
Blue Heart Bali was born from a simple, powerful promise: to protect what we love. We are not a distant international corporation, we are your neighbors in Tianyar. We believe that by bridging your global passion with our local wisdom, we can create a sustainable future for our home.
This is more than just a volunteer program. It is an invitation to step off the beaten path, to become a guardian of our coast, and a mentor to our future leaders. Your journey here is not just about traveling, it is about leaving a lasting legacy in the sand and the sea of East Bali.
Marine Conservation
In this program, you will work directly with the local fishermen of Tianyar. We don't just "watch" the ocean, we activey restore it.
What You Will Do:
Artificial Reef Construction
Learn how to build 'fish houses' (reef structures) using sustainable local methods.
Deployment & Transplantation
Assist fishermen in submerging these structures and transplanting live coral fragments.
Biodiversity Monitoring
Participate in snorkeling sessions to monitor fish populations and coral health.
Coastal Protection
Lead beach clean-ups and waste management workshops for the community.

Education & Empowerment
Education is the most powerful tool for change. You will be based at the Widya Sari Foundation (WINS), a local learning center that provides free education to village children.
What You Will Do:
Conversational English
Lead small groups of students (ages 6–15) to improve their speaking confidence through fun, interactive games.
Creative Workshops
Do you play music? Paint? Love sports? We encourage you to lead workshops based on your own unique skills.
Cultural Exchange
While you teach them English, the children will teach you about Balinese culture, dance, and daily village life.
By building these reefs, we provide a habitat for marine life to return, which directly supports the food security and livelihoods of our local fishing families.
Your presence inspires the children to dream bigger and gives them the language skills necessary for their future careers, ensuring they can stay and thrive in their own community.
